FIRE Monthly Newsletter: June 2025

In June, I experienced two significant events: I quit my job and went on a trip.

I was working at a startup, and I actually enjoyed the job because my boss was a great person. Additionally, my strengths were well-suited to the company’s projects—I had both the ability and interest to help improve the product’s quality. However, over time, I faced some challenges related to certain conditions and people, which were beyond my ability to overcome. So, I ultimately decided to resign.

After that, I arranged a trip to help myself unwind. To be honest, on my journey toward FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early), I felt like I made no progress in June. The month was purely about spending. This got me thinking: if I actually achieve FIRE in the future, will I truly enjoy that kind of life? In a conversation with myself, I realize I’m a contradictory person. Sometimes, I want to set goals that make me feel driven, giving me a sense of being alive through hard work. Other times, those goals feel so vague, and I don’t know what to do in the moment, which makes me feel like I’ve lost some kind of motivation.

Regardless, I need to keep pushing forward.

This Newsletter is a record of my journey through FIRE, and I’ll do my best to share my cognitive enhancements each month. If any of this interests you, I’d love it if you could share it with your friends. You can share it with them and sign up here.
